Gentle Somatic Yoga for Release

Get out of your head and into your body in breath-led Soamtic Yoga. With a focus on fitting the pose to the body (not the body to the pose), Somatic Yoga is a slow, gentle practice which aims to shine light on the parts of ourselves that may be in need of some release and TLC. Accessible to all ages and abilities.

Slow down and find your breath in this gentle Hatha yoga class at the beautiful La Jolla Community Center. Together we’ll explore a balance of breath, movement, and meditation with an emphasis on finding what works best for you. All levels are welcome. A mat, blanket, and water are encouraged but not required.

Slow and nurturing, this class is about exploration of whats being felt in the body, not the brain. We’ll breathe deeply and move intentionally. Postures will be offered as a way of creating space to find the pose that best fits you and feels right in your body. Somatic Yoga can also be a way to safely explore trauma that may be stored in the body. In our practices we’ll allow for anything that arises, even if it’s nothing at all. All ages, fitness and experience levels welcome. bring a yoga mat, blanketanything else that feels good to you.

Explore what your body is craving in this slow-flow, Hatha yoga class. Taught in the world-renowned Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, together we’ll breathe, move, flow, and meditate over the Koi pond, with a rushing waterfall for our soundtrack. A mat, blanket, and water are encouraged but not required.
Immerse your senses, move your body, and catch your breath in this unique class, deep in the heart of the lush Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. Created to bring awareness to the breath and body connection, we’ll explore various breath techniques for increasing overall wellness, including better stress management, emotional release, and improved sleep health. Next to a rushing waterfall on top of a peaceful Koi pond, we’ll begin with some gentle Yoga-informed warm-up movements to stretch the body and release tension, explore breath exercises for everyday life, energize our bodies with an accelerated breath session followed by a deeply relaxing, quiet meditation. A mat, blanket, and water are encouraged but not required.

Yoga is best when it’s FUN! Come explore the Japanese Friendship Garden as we take Yoga on the go and seek out lions, tigers, monkeys, and bears! Classes will be tailored to each age group and include simple movements and breath techniques that focus on the joy of movement and learning!
